First, let me extend a heartfelt thank you for 40 incredible years of school and community inclusion. Without the steadfast support of our families and the friends of I Care, this program would not be the vibrant and essential force it is in our community today. We deeply appreciate your partnership as we continue to champion prevention.
As Director, I have been privileged to witness the evolving needs within our community and the schools of East Baton Rouge Parish. Our program’s strength lies in our ability to assess these needs and strategically adapt our approach. Prevention is a collaborative effort, and at I CARE, we truly believe in the power of teamwork. We are proud to support all schools—public, private, and parochial—and are immensely grateful for our strong partnerships with each of them.
We genuinely care about prevention. We care profoundly about our community. And we care about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people every day. Our dedicated team of 20 staff members works diligently, both directly with students and behind the scenes, to be strong advocates. A cornerstone of our work is the continuous development of programs centered around Social Emotional Learning. By nurturing these vital skills in our youth, we empower them to make informed decisions throughout their lives and become positive contributors to their communities.
I recognize that this past year has presented significant challenges for many. However, I firmly believe in our collective resilience and our ability to overcome obstacles together. I CARE is here to offer help, to educate, to provide unwavering support, and to be a strong voice. It is my sincere hope that we will continue to collaborate, strengthening our commitment to prevention and empowering students to achieve their fullest potential. Together, we can make a lasting difference as advocates for our young people.
Sincerely, Erin Pourciau-Bradford
