The Marquis de Carabas is predicted to become incredibly popular, and after experiencing it, it’s easy to see why. This fragrance is simply stunning. It’s an enticing, warm, and undeniably sexy scent that’s perfect to wear for yourself or for those you want to draw closer.
The composition is a masterful blend, starting with a subtle hint of light rum – truly just a splash – which then gracefully merges with spice and leather notes. The leather here is soft and supple, reminiscent of well-worn luxury rather than sharp, new leather. Often, spice blends can lean heavily into clove, which can be overpowering, but Marquis de Carabas avoids this pitfall entirely. Similarly, while some “opium” notes can be cloyingly sweet, that’s not the case here either. What’s truly remarkable is how this fragrance takes typically strong elements and balances them so perfectly that they transform into something entirely new and even more exquisite than the individual components.

Since my initial review, I’ve found myself consistently reaching for Marquis de Carabas more than any other from the Neverwhere collection I ordered. It has even surpassed some of my long-time favorite fragrances. It’s a scent that has never disappointed, working wonderfully from morning to evening, suitable for any occasion, and adaptable to both warm and cool weather. This fragrance is genuinely, truly, and astonishingly FANTASTIC. I wholeheartedly believe I am in love with the Marquis!
