- Balanced Shifts: You will work approximately 14 rotating shifts per month, structured to ensure you have every other weekend off. This predictable schedule allows for better personal planning and work-life integration.
- No Overnight Shifts & Limited Call: Say goodbye to overnight shifts and mandated extra hours. Call responsibilities are minimal, approximately six nights per year, and are focused on critical lab results or CT scans, not direct patient calls.

Qualifications to Join Our Geisinger Urgent Care Team
To thrive in this autonomous role at Geisinger Urgent Care, successful Advanced Practitioners must have:
- Experience: A minimum of six months of Advanced Practice experience in Primary Care, Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, or Critical Care is essential due to the independent nature of the position and the requirement to treat patients aged one year and older.
For Physician Assistant Candidates:
- Education: Master’s Degree-Physician Assistant (Required)
- Accreditation: Completion of an ARC-PA (or predecessor organization) approved Physician Assistant program.
- Certification: Current NCCPA certification or eligibility.
- Licensure: Pennsylvania State licensure or eligibility.
For Nurse Practitioner Candidates:
- Education: Certificate of completion from an approved Nurse Practitioner program or national certification eligibility.
- Certification: National certification that allows the NP to work with the patient populations and location settings associated with this position.
- Licensure: Eligibility for licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of PA.
