July 27, 2022 (VA) – In a move to significantly enhance healthcare accessibility across Northern Virginia, Inova Health System, the region’s leading non-profit healthcare provider, and GoHealth Urgent Care, a rapidly expanding, patient-focused urgent care company, have announced a joint venture. This collaboration will introduce new Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care centers, transforming seven existing Inova Urgent Care locations and planning for numerous additional centers in the coming years. These facilities are set to deliver superior on-demand care, offering both in-person and virtual consultations to communities throughout Northern Virginia and the wider Washington DC metropolitan area.
Dr. Steve Motew, Chief, Clinical Enterprise at Inova, emphasized the patient-centric benefits of this partnership. “By combining Inova’s long-standing reputation for exceptional care and clinical excellence with GoHealth’s innovative, consumer-driven, and technologically advanced approach to urgent care operations, we are poised to elevate the patient experience and significantly improve urgent care accessibility within our communities,” he stated. “Expanding our urgent care footprint across the region ensures our patients can access the appropriate care, in the optimal location, precisely when they need it.”

The newly branded Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care centers are designed to cater to patients aged six months and older, addressing a broad spectrum of non-life-threatening medical issues. Services will include treatment for common ailments such as flu, fever, ear infections, insect bites, sprains, minor fractures, eye injuries, and lacerations requiring stitches. To enhance patient convenience, these centers will offer walk-in appointments, as well as online and app-based options to check wait times, reserve a spot, and pre-register. This streamlined approach ensures swift access to high-quality clinical providers, whether patients opt for virtual or in-person visits. Furthermore, when necessary, patients will benefit from seamless referrals to Inova’s extensive network of primary and specialist care physicians.
Todd Latz, CEO of GoHealth Urgent Care, highlighted the strategic importance of this partnership within the Northern Virginia healthcare landscape. “Northern Virginia is a highly dynamic healthcare market, and we are delighted to join forces with an innovative and forward-thinking organization like Inova. Together, we aim to challenge the existing healthcare model and deliver outstanding care, improved access, and greater value to the communities we are privileged to serve,” Latz explained. “Through patient-focused and provider-centric technologies, tools, and workflows, we will collectively raise the standard for on-demand, omnichannel care, ensuring superior patient experiences and higher quality healthcare delivery.”
GoHealth Urgent Care currently manages approximately 200 on-demand care centers nationwide, collaborating with leading health systems across the country. Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care centers and their virtual platform will provide readily accessible care, staffed and clinically managed by Inova’s own healthcare professionals, ensuring consistent, high-quality medical attention.
