Aston Martin has firmly cemented its position at the pinnacle of high-performance automotive engineering by simultaneously launching three new vehicles at Silverstone, the iconic home of British motorsport. This unprecedented event showcased the brand’s dedication to integrating cutting-edge motorsport technology into its luxury road cars, highlighting the deep-rooted racing DNA of the esteemed British manufacturer.
The star of the show was undoubtedly the new Aston Martin Vantage, heralded as the most driver-focused and exhilarating Vantage in its illustrious 74-year history. Its unveiling on the same day the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team’s AMR24 challenger took to the Silverstone track underscores the symbiotic relationship between Aston Martin’s road and race programs. The Vantage nameplate, introduced in the very year of the first Formula One World Championship race at Silverstone in 1950, shares a rich heritage with this legendary circuit, now the home of Aston Martin’s state-of-the-art AMR Technology Campus.
Engineered for driving purists, the new Vantage embodies authentic performance, meticulously crafted to deliver maximum driving thrills and confidence. It stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the AMR24, Aston Martin’s formidable contender for the 2024 FIA Formula One World Championship™. Both vehicles epitomize Aston Martin’s ambition to lead in high-performance technology both on the road and track. The Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team, buoyed by their most successful season in 2023 with nine podium finishes, aims to build upon this momentum with drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll at the helm.
Bridging the gap between road and Formula 1 technology is the new Vantage GT3 racer. This track-ready beast takes the exceptional qualities of the production Aston Martin Car and elevates them to create a formidable GT racer. The Vantage GT3 is poised to begin a new chapter in Aston Martin’s celebrated motorsport legacy, following in the tyre tracks of the ultra-successful Vantage GTE, which secured an impressive 52 class victories and 11 world titles between 2012 and 2023.
Lawrence Stroll, Executive Chairman of Aston Martin, emphasized the significance of this triple unveiling: “These three brothers in speed enrich our DNA with a new dynamism. Revealing the new Vantage and Vantage GT3 race car alongside the AMR24 Formula One challenger at Silverstone underscores our ambition to be a leading force in Formula 1 and to create the most exquisite and exhilarating sports cars in the world.”
He further highlighted the growing synergy between Aston Martin’s road and race programs, stating, “Aston Martin Lagonda is now benefiting from the exceptional pool of engineering talent, experience, and knowledge cultivated in Formula One and harnessed through Aston Martin Performance Technologies.” Stroll noted the transformative impact of Formula 1 on the Aston Martin brand, attracting new clientele and enhancing the perception of their road cars. He believes that a highly competitive F1 team amplifies the benefits of high-performance motorsport technologies, which will be further maximized in their next generation of sports cars and endurance motorsport strategy.
The Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team is set to commence the 2024 FIA Formula One World Championship™ season at the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix on March 2, 2024. This exciting new chapter for Aston Martin, marked by the launch of these three high-performance machines, signals a bold step forward for the brand in both the luxury car market and the world of motorsport.
