The University of Florida Health and CareSpot Urgent Care are broadening their successful partnership to include a new CareSpot location in Ocala. This expansion brings Marion County residents enhanced access to UF Health’s comprehensive network of services for any necessary follow-up care, building upon the existing collaboration at three CareSpot Urgent Care centers in Gainesville already affiliated with UF Health.
This Ocala affiliation became effective on Saturday, marking a significant step in local healthcare accessibility. The CareSpot Ocala facility, conveniently situated at 2415 SW College Road, provides extended daily hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., even on holidays. For inquiries or assistance, they can be reached at 352-237-3536.
CareSpot will continue to manage all operational aspects of its urgent care centers across Florida, ensuring a seamless transition for patients and staff at the Ocala location. No staffing changes are anticipated as a result of this affiliation.
“Our affiliation with UF Health in Gainesville has been strong for almost a decade, and we are thrilled to extend this beneficial relationship to our Ocala Care Spot,” stated Eric Enderle, CEO of CareSpot Urgent Care. “CareSpot’s core mission is to improve the healthcare experience for everyone we serve. This affiliation with UF Health significantly strengthens our ability to achieve this vision. We are particularly excited to now offer our Ocala patients a direct pathway to the extensive resources and specialists within the UF Health system should they require subsequent medical attention.”
Ed Jimenez, CEO of UF Health Shands, emphasized the robust and productive nature of the existing collaboration between UF Health and CareSpot. Extending this partnership to Marion County was a logical next step to enhance community health.
“This new venture represents our ongoing commitment to delivering UF Health’s exceptional standard of care to the residents of Marion County,” Jimenez explained. “We are deeply invested in this community and believe that access to top-tier healthcare should not be limited by location.
“At UF Health, we are constantly evaluating the evolving needs of the communities we serve. We believe that by working collaboratively with CareSpot, we can build upon the excellent services already in place,” he continued. “Together, we aim to provide the most positive patient care experience possible and make outstanding healthcare more accessible throughout the community.”
CareSpot effectively addresses a critical need for patients who require prompt medical attention but may not be able to immediately schedule an appointment with their primary care physician. Furthermore, CareSpot provides a valuable alternative when medical conditions are not severe enough to warrant a visit to the emergency room.
CareSpot locations are equipped to treat a wide range of non-emergency medical issues, including sprains, cuts, minor burns, and upper respiratory infections. In addition to urgent care services, they also offer wellness and occupational health services, such as on-site X-rays, vaccinations, laboratory tests, and physical examinations.
Appointments are not mandatory at CareSpot; however, for added convenience, patients can utilize online scheduling or call ahead. Walk-in patients are always welcome, ensuring immediate access to care when needed.
Should a patient require specialized medical attention or follow-up care with a primary care physician after their urgent care visit, CareSpot facilitates seamless referrals and arrangements within the UF Health network.
